New music arriving from every corner, all of it deserving to be heard. And from every end as well. Soul and jazz. For whatever reason, this Friday we\u2019ve opted for the other side of soul, leaning heavily into jazz, with hip\u2011hop claiming its own place right in the middle of it all. Soul alternatives, plus an overflow of sheer sonic beauty. No doubt there\u2019s no getting around the third album by the man who calls himself <strong>CORTO.ALTO<\/strong>, and who, under that name, blows open the borders of jazz on a grand scale. Or dreams up fusions in which jazz still plays its part. His <em>\u201cSome Small Fortune\u201d<\/em> is a 15\u2011part sound adventure, full of fabulous string arrangements and fabulous guests in every imaginable combination, keeping us constantly charged \u2014 <strong>SHOLTO<\/strong>\u2019s music is a permanent fixture for us. Beauty with backbone. <em>\u201cAlways\u201d<\/em> is his new single, with <strong>PHOEBE COCO<\/strong> as guest. Gorgeous. <strong>EDBL<\/strong>, both with his own songs and as a producer, remains a sure bet for quality at the crossroads of new soul, crackling hip\u2011hop, and some kind of jazz. Fine melodies come as a bonus \u2014 just listen to <em>\u201cWish You Were Mine,\u201d<\/em> recorded together with <strong>ADY SULEIMAN<\/strong> and <strong>DAN WHITLAM<\/strong>. Moving in similar terrain is <strong>AUGUST CHARLES<\/strong>. <em>\u201cTo Be Alive\u201d<\/em> is the name of his current EP, and <em>\u201cStarted With A Dream\u201d<\/em> is the perfect summary of Mr. Charles\u2019 musical spectrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es wird munterer. Aus allen Ecken neue Musiken, die eigentlich geh\u00f6rt werden sollte. Und von allen Enden auch. Soul und Jazz. Warum auch immer, aber wir haben uns an diesem Freitag f\u00fcr f\u00fcr die andere Soul-Seite entschieden, machen viel mit Jazz, und HipHop nimmt sich auch einen Platz in der Mitte des Geschehens. Soul-Alternativen, und \u00fcberbordender Sch\u00f6nklang obendrein. Zweifelsfrei gibt es kein Vorbeih\u00f6ren am dritten Album des Mannes, der sich <strong>CORTO.ALTO<\/strong> nennt, und als solcher die Grenzen des Jazz weitr\u00e4umig aufbohrt. Oder Fusionen ersinnt, bei denen auch der Jazz seine Rolle spielt. Sein &#8222;Some Small Fortune&#8220; ist eine 15-teiliges Sound-Abenteuer, aus dem uns famose Streicher-Arrangements und famose G\u00e4ste in jeglicher Kombination konstant unter Strom setzen &#8211; <strong>SHOLTO<\/strong>s Musiken sind dauerhaft bei uns pr\u00e4sent. Wohlklang von Format. &#8222;Always&#8220; ist seine neue Single, <strong>PHOEBE COCO<\/strong> sein Gast. So sch\u00f6n! &#8211; Der <strong>EDBL<\/strong> ist mit eigenen Songs, aber auch als Produzent eine sichere Bank f\u00fcr Qualit\u00e4t an den diversen Schnittstellen von neuem Soul, knackendem HipHop und irgendeiner Art von Jazz.
