There you go! At least things are getting better and better. Naturally, today\u2019s gang of four plays no small part in the balanced mood we\u2019re in. Ahead of us lies a broad spectrum\u2026 and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, JARROD LAWSON<\/strong> has been in the air around us ever since the announcement. New Lawson songs are few and far between, and when an album is also pushing toward release, it usually means something big is coming. From May 1st onward, that means a 14-track record called \u201cJust Let It.\u201d<\/em> Included among them is \u201cDo Whatchu Gotta,\u201d a gentle slow-mover that showcases all of Lawson\u2019s strengths, from the arrangement to the vocals. As it should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of a completely different caliber is the Australian formation OWELU DREAMHOUSE<\/strong> on their debut album. Nkechi Anele and Nic Ryan-Glenie have gathered eight additional musicians around them, and at their best moments they make all genre boundaries between jazz, soul, funk, and world beats simply disappear. Intelligent songwriting, powerful production, and confident arrangements. Their \u201cOwerri Disco\u201d has us firmly in its grip\u2014only the calming flow of \u201cNiger River\u201d lets us drift free for a moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Different level. QUINN OULTON<\/strong> serves up the distinctive sound of his \u201cComfort Food,\u201d entirely according to his own recipe. \u201cMystical,\u201d the neighbor might call it\u2014something that continues to captivate us even after repeated listens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another topic. Funk. Jazz. And the bass goes rumble-rumble. With guitar, and of course a proper horn section. SNACKTIME <\/strong>from Philadelphia ask, \u201cWho\u2019s Been Stopping You,\u201d while they themselves remain completely unfazed, confidently locking in their direction of movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Geht doch! Zumindest immer besser. Selbstverst\u00e4ndlich hat unsere heutige Vierer-Bande nicht unwesentlichen Anteil an der ausgeglichenen Stimmungslage. Vor uns liegt ein breites Band…und so weiter. Na klar, der JARROD LAWSON<\/strong> klingt seit Bekanntgabe rund um uns herum. Neue Lawson-Songs sind rar ges\u00e4t, und wenn dann zudem auch noch ein Album auf Ver\u00f6ffentlichung dr\u00e4ngt, dann ist gemeinhin Gr0\u00dfes im Anzug. Ab dem 01.05. also eine 14-teilige Platte namens „Just Let It“. Unter anderem eben auch mit „Do Whatchu Gotta“, ein sanftm\u00fctiger Slow-Mover, der von Arrangement bis Stimme alle Lawson-Vorz\u00fcge mit sich bringt. Gut so. – Von ganz anderem Kaliber zeigt sich die australische Formation OWELU DREAMHOUSE<\/strong> auf ihrem Debut-Album. Nkechi Anele und Nic Ryan-Glenie haben 8 weitere Musiker um sich geschart, um in ihren besten Momenten alle Genre-Linien zwischen Jazz.Soul, Funk und World-Beatz verschwinden zu lassen. Mit Verstand im Songwriting, mit Kraft in der Produktion und Arrangement. Ihre „Owerri Disco“ hat uns vollkommen im Griff, aus dem uns nur der beruhigende Flow des „Niger River“ entschwinden l\u00e4sst. – Andere Ebene. QUINN OULTON<\/strong> serviert den besonderen Klang seines „Comfort Food“.
