With “Promise”, he delivers another singer‑songwriter piece operating at an elevated pop level. Absolutely radio‑friendly. – LIV EAST, brand‑new at the SonicSoul starting line. “Projections” casts another spotlight on her soon‑to‑arrive debut “FunkSoulSex”, whose soundscape ultimately takes a more subtle approach. New soul, deep‑rumbling, with a touch of electronics and a still‑to‑be‑defined magnetic pull. Fits us well. – Curtain up for a new label, led by Simon Manni, a man with extensive experience in the soul/jazz biz. On top of that, he has exquisite taste — so we’re already looking forward to the upcoming output from his Rebirth imprint. First up is SHAWN RIVERA, who recently impressed with a refined RnB/Soul record. He took Mario Biondi’s classic “This Is What You Are” to heart and, together with Rebirth’s house band Dolce Groove, turns it into a lightly grooving slice of soul‑jazz — complete with sing‑along charm, a tasteful sax solo, and a free‑floating outro. Exactly as it should be.

Den Anfang macht der SHAWN RIVERA, der erst kürzlich mittels einer ganz feinen RnB/Soul Platte reüssieren konnte, nahm sich den Mario Biondi Klassiker „This Is What You Are“ zu Herzen, und macht daraus (gemeinsam mit der Rebirth Haus-Band Dolce Groove) ein locker groovendes Stück vom Soul-Jazz, inklusive Mitsing-Funktion, gediegenem Solo vom Saxofon und freiem Floating zum Ausklang.
