The guitar already played a leading role in the baking process, and now it takes center stage again with TOM BAILEY and his “Count on Me.” Soul, R&B, with an unstirred pop note. It clicks and clacks, the hooks latch on in all the right places, and Tom delivers—reliably, as always. A man named GIVEON is, by all accounts, now a major figure in the everyday, radio‑friendly R&B business. We somehow missed that until today. But with “Jezebel,” he has our full attention: joy‑inducing dance groove, charming melodic turns, and a bass line that borrows a few ideas from Marcus Miller’s contributions to the great Luther tracks. ADRIA KAIN wants to get to where Giveon already is. She’s considered an up‑and‑coming, highly capable “R&B singer‑songwriter” and has just released her second album, “This Feels Like Home.” And while seven of the eight tracks quietly wander off somewhere, “Driving Miss Daisy” stays right at the center of our attention. That’s how it’s done.

Der JEFF LOGAN serviert seinen „Cake“ als „350 Degrees Sonic Version“, in dem er einen flockigen Soul-Jazz-Groove locker aufschlägt, und mit der Erfahrung eines gut geschulten Sound-Konditors die richtigen Zutaten hinzufügt. Aber bitte mit Sahne! – Die Gitarre erfüllte schon eine führende Partie beim Backen, und ist nun auch bei TOM BAILEY und seinem „Count on Me“ zentral aktiv. Soul, R&B, mit untegerührter Pop-Note. Sie gilt als aufstrebend-befähigte „E&B Singer-Songwriter/in“, und hat soeben ein zweites Album namens „This Feels Like Home“ aufgelegt.
