This applies especially to EVANN MCINTOSH, on whose magnificent “Free Ride” wave from last year we’re still surfing through life. His “Fantasy Fuel” shifts down a few gears. The secret is, of course, carefully wrapped up inside. Producer Abe Rounds is not entirely innocent in this. Be that as it may, Evann simply has to take the big stage very soon. His new album should see to that.
NOSTALGIA 77 is back and sounds just as the name still suggests. “Bye By” is utterly delightful—a distinction that could just as well adorn the entire body of work of GARETH DONKIN. “Never Gonna Break Your Heart” sounds like a promise that can’t be kept. We’ll accept it that way—it simply sounds too good coming from Gareth.
Delonte Drumgold is RUM.GOLD. With careful gentleness, he shapes the soul of “Asleep At The Wheel,” adds a few pop notes, and decorates it with just the right amount of crumbly sugar on top. So don’t fall asleep!

NOSTALGIA 77 ist zurcük und klingt so, wie der Name immer noch vermuten lässt. „Bye By“ ist allerliebst. – Ein Prädikat mit dem sich das GARETH DONKIN gesamtwerk schmücken könnte. „Never Goann Break Your Heart“ klingt nach einem unerfüllbaren Versprechen. Nehmen wir so hin – zu wohlklingend tönts vom Gareth. – Delonte Drumgold ist der RUM.GOLD. Mit sorgfältiger Sanftmut legt er sich den „Asleep At The Wheel“ Soul zurecht, gibt ein paar Pop-Noten dazu und verziert mit genau der richtigen Menge an streuseligem Zucker. Also, nicht verschlafen!
